Despite the fact that the battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro is defined as “adequate” in our evaluation of the iPhone 15 Pro, the battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro is significantly longer than that of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Therefore, it is not terrible, but it is also not particularly amazing, and it seems as though the iPhone 16 Pro might not make much of a difference in this regard
You see, photographs of a battery that appears to be meant for the iPhone 16 Pro have been found to have been leaked by @KosutamiSan (via MacRumors), and the images show that the battery has a capacity of 3,355mAh. As a point of reference, the battery capacity of the iPhone 15 Pro is 3,274 mAh, which means that this would be an upgrade, albeit a slight one, and it would still be one of the lowest batteries found in a modern smartphone.
Therefore, if this leak is genuine, we would expect that there will not be any big modifications to the battery life of the iPhone 16 Pro. This is because of the previous statement. Similarly, the battery life of the iPhone 15 Pro is listed as being identical to that of the iPhone 14 Pro, despite the fact that the latter has a little bigger capacity than the former.
Therefore, according to official statements, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a battery life of up to approximately 23 hours when watching videos that are stored locally, and up to 20 hours when watching videos that are streamed. According to our observations with the iPhone 15 Pro, this will most likely translate to a battery life that lasts for the entire day for the majority of users, but not much more.
Because the source does not yet have a significant track record, and it is still early days for iPhone 16 leaks, this is based on the assumption that the battery leak that was mentioned earlier is accurate. However, it is possible that this is not the case. In point of fact, they specify that this is an “early stage” iPhone 16 Pro battery, which means that it may be subject to modification regardless.
Run with coolness
However, there is some good news here – assuming this leak is accurate – because the housing of the battery has been altered, even though the capacity of the battery has not changed significantly. The foil casing that was previously used for the batteries in the iPhones that are currently in use has been changed with a frosted metal in this instance. This alteration has the potential to improve the thermal efficiency of the battery.
In other words, it may assist in maintaining a cooler temperature for the phone, which may, in turn, enable the phone to function at its maximum capacity for a longer period of time, even when performing labor-intensive tasks.
It was just recently that the same source made the allegation that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max would have a metal battery shell, and now they have produced evidence that this is really the case. In addition, they stated that every single variant of the iPhone 16 will be equipped with a graphene heat sink, which will lead to an even greater improvement in thermal efficiency.
As the release of these mobile devices is not anticipated until September 2024, we would advise taking this and any other rumors with a grain of salt. Do not, however, be shocked if, based on the information shown above, the iPhone 16 Pro operates at a lower temperature than its predecessor, but does not have significantly more endurance.
In addition, you do not have to wait until September for a new iPhone if you are unable to do so. It is getting close to Black Friday, and many of the greatest iPhones are getting discounted. If you want to see all of the current offers, check out the top Black Friday iPhone discounts.
