The vivo X100 lineup made its debut in China in an official capacity. The X100 and the X100 Pro are two brand-new smartphones that are included in this series launch. In addition to being the successor to the vivo X90 series, the new lineup is the first to feature a recently introduced chipset from MediaTek called the Dimensity 9300.
However, the new processor is not the only feature that firmly establishes the vivo X100 series as a suitable successor to the vivo X90 lineup from a technological standpoint. Additionally, the camera capabilities of both of these smartphones, particularly the X100 Pro, have been significantly enhanced, which is a significant upgrade. Other enhancements are available in plenty as well.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE VIVO X100 SERIES IN STANDARD FORM
The vivo X100 series features specifications that are on par with those of flagship devices. Each and every component of the two gadgets, from the chipset to the screen to the design, is of the highest quality. Here is a brief summary of all of the most important characteristics:
A FLAGSHIP MediaTek CHIPSET WITH A DIMENSION OF 9300
In line with what was anticipated, the Dimensity 9300, which was just recently introduced, is one of the most notable highlights of the vivo X100 series. To those who may have missed our comprehensive coverage of the chipset, it is equipped with a three-tiered central processing unit design. Additionally, this configuration includes four Cortex-A720 cores in addition to four ARM Cortex-X4 cores.
One of the four Cortex-X4 cores operates at a frequency of 3.25 GHz, while the other three cores operate at a frequency of 2.85 GHz. All four of the cores that make up the Cortex-A720 are clocked at a frequency of 2.0 GHz. It has been brought to my attention in the prior article that MediaTek made a conscious decision to not use any low-power Cortex A-520 cores. The chipset was able to provide the optimal balance of performance and efficiency as a result of this.
Asa result of this, the vivo X100 series of smartphones offers much superior performance compared to the vivo X90 series. In point of fact, recent benchmarks have demonstrated that the Dimensity 9300 is capable of outperforming the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the AnTuTu benchmarking tool.
NOTCH DISPLAY AT THE TOP
There is a screen of 6.78 inches on the front of both the vivo X100 and the X100 Pro as standard. The display is an LTPO AMOLED panel that has a dynamic refresh rate that can range from 1 Hz to 120 Hz and boasts a resolution of 1260p.
In addition, the display of the vivo X100 series is capable of offering a peak brightness of 3000 NITS, supports 10bit colors, and offers 2160 Hz PWM dimming for a viewing experience that is both comfortable and enjoyable.
SUPERIOR SETUP FOR THE CAMERA
The display of the vivo X100 series incorporates a punch-hole cutout that conceals a front-facing camera with a resolution of 32 megapixels. Furthermore, the X100 Pro is equipped with three sensors that each have a resolution of 50 megapixels. Among these, the Sony IMX989 sensor, which is one inch in size, is the primary sensor used in the most expensive variant.
But the camera technology that is incorporated into the vivo X100 Pro is what truly sets it apart from other smartphones in terms of its camera arrangement. Featuring a telephoto lens that has been approved by Zeiss APO, this smartphone is the first of its kind in the world. This accreditation basically guarantees that the zoom lens is capable of capturing colors that are accurate to the real world.
In order to accomplish this, it is equipped with an apochromatically corrected zoom lens, which brings the colors blue, red, and green into the same focus plane. Not only does this zoom lens reproduce colors that are true to life, but it also brings about better clarity. The lens also helps to decrease the fringes that appear at the contrast borders, which is another reason why the vivo X100 Pro is particularly good at zoomed images.
A new floating periscope module is included with the vivo X100 Pro, which is an additional feature. In addition, it has a focal length equivalent to 100 millimeters and an aperture of 2.57 inches. With this periscope sensor, you can get a digital zoom of up to 100x and an optical zoom of up to 4.3x.
There is a 15mm equivalent ultrawide lens that is the third module that comes with the vivo X100 Pro. It is equipped with an aperture of f/2.0. There is a T* lens coating on each of the three sensors, which, in comparison to the previous sensor, reduces reflectance by fifty percent. A brand-new image chipset with a 6nm V3 architecture is also included in the top-end variant. Through this feature, the phone is able to effortlessly process and capture 4K movie portrait video.
When it comes to the vivo X100, the primary sensor is a specialized IMX920 with a resolution of 50 megapixels. The camera is equipped with a 64-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 1.57-megapixel aperture. The optical image stabilization (OIS) function of this 1/2-inch telescopic camera allows for the capture of more stable films and still photographs. Additionally, the phone is equipped with a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. There is a T* lens coating on each of the three lenses.
What is the RAM, storage, and battery capacity of the Vivo X100 phones?
Vivo combined the Dimensity 9300 that is contained within the vivo X100 devices with up to 16 gigabytes of LPDDR5T RAM in order to ensure that it delivers the greatest possible performance. Additionally, the two phones come equipped with up to one terabyte (TB) of UFS 4.0 storage, which provides a sufficient amount of space to accommodate all of the high-quality films and photographs that are captured by the camera system of the devices.
There was also an improvement made to the battery section of the vivo X100 in comparison to the vivo X90 series. A 5000mAh cell is included with the X100, in contrast to the previous one, which had a maximum capacity of 4870mAh. Moreover, the X100 Pro comes with a significantly larger 5400mAh battery.
THE VIVO X100 SERIES INCLUDES OTHER REMARKABLE FEATURES
The new vivo X100 smartphones both have a water and dust resistance grade of IP68 thanks to their design. In addition to that, they come equipped with WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and infrared blasters. As for the software, the phones start up with Android 14 and then have OriginOS 4 installed on top of it.
